15 arrested in City

Kathmandu, February 24:

The Kathmandu Metropolitan Police last night arrested 15 persons in the capital on different charges.

A patrolling police team from the Metropolitan Police Circle at Maharajgunj arrested three persons from Gangabu at around 11:30 pm.

DSP Shushil Bhandari said Saman Ser Punja Pun, 27, was masterminding a looting when he was caught. Police didn’t disclose the names of other two persons saying that they were being investigated. Another police team from the Metropolitan Section in Durbarmarg caught two persons —Tulasiram Sunar and Sri Krishna Neupaney — with two iron rods and a bag of marijuana from Juatha. At Bouddha, police arrested 10 persons with one fake pistol and three khukuris from Arubari and Dakishindhoka, police said.

Meanwhile, a group of armed persons last night looted a house owned by Tekraj Tamang at Gangabu and made away with Rs 140,000 cash, 20 tolas of gold, and other valuables, police said.
