Hashish worth Rs 48m seized

Kathmandu, March 5:

A police team from the Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit (NDCLEU) in New Baneshwor seized over 48 kg of hashish in the past four days. The police team also arrested six persons. The police said that the hashish cost Rs 48 million in the local market.

DSP Bikash Khanal said they seized 18.25 kg of hashish from the Baglung Parichaya Guest House at Mitranagar yesterday. “We seized the drug from Jitram BK and Rathlal Pun of Rukum and Indian national Bishal Prasad, who were waiting for customers when we raided the room,” the police official said. It is learnt that they brought the narcotics from Baglung and were looking for customers for three months.

On March 2, the NDCLEU seized 30 kg of hashish from Sitaram Syangtang, 36, of Makawanpur, Dil Bahadur Tamang, 21, of Dhading and Lal Bahadur Tamang, 42, of Sarlahi from Kapanchowk in Chabahil.
