Kathmandu, May 28:
CPN-UML standing committee member and former minister Pradeep Gyawali said today elections to the constituent assembly have become uncertain owing to the disturbances created by, what he termed, “mushrooming organisations” that are carrying out criminal activities in the Tarai.
“The constituent assembly polls are uncertain. Organisations, which were never heard of before, have now come up in the names of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha, Defence Tigers, among others and are carrying out criminal activities,” Gyawali told an interaction organised by the Rastriya Jansanskritik Manch Nepal today. Conceding that the parties are more involved in power games than working, he criticised some parties for not being clear on monarchy.
“It is ridiculous that the party leadership is still trying to save the institution of monarchy when its own student faction has proved that it is in favour of a republic,” he said indicating at the NC.
