Rautahat, June 15:
Riverine flood caused by incessant rain since last night has submerged a dozen VDCs in Rautahat.
As the waters are still rising in the Bagmati, Lalbakaiya, Lamaha and Jhanj rivers, locals are shifting to safe places. Flood in Lalbakaiya has submerged 100 houses in Karkat Karmaiya.
“As the water level has risen, villagers are forced to leave their houses,” a local Sanjay Mishra said.
“Those persons, who have not left their houses, are staying on layers of cots piled one above the other,” Mishra said.
Flood in Lalbakaiya has submerged most of Karmaiya, Dejapakhar, Inaruwa, Inaruwari, Debahi, Basatapatti, Rajpurtulsi, Khatuwa Mahespur and Chamanpur VDCs.
