Property worth Rs 26m destroyed

Tanahun, July 12:

Landslides occurring in different parts of Tanahun district since mid-May have damaged property worth Rs 2.65 crore.

Details of the damages were made public in Damauli today by a technical team of the district natural calamity relief committee.

The team comprising technicians from the district development committee, technical office, district education office, district land conservation office, district agriculture development office, western regional division roads office and the irrigation development sub-division office had collected data on the damages after visiting the landslide-hit areas of the district.

At the meeting, CDO and chairman of the committee Kashinath Marasini promised to ask the central natural calamity relief committee for reconstruction of projects damaged by the landslide. Representatives of political parties demanded that relief materials be sent to the affected areas.
