Mahottari, September 22:
Bandh called by the Samyukta Jantantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha to protest the Kapilavastu carnage affected normal life in different districts of Tarai today.
SJTMM is the split faction of JTMM-G and is led by Pawan. Though transport service in the district was disrupted, city markets were open. SJTMM cadres seized three motorbikes heading to Bagada from Tapanpur for defying the bandh.
A report from Siraha said the bandh affected life in rural areas, including Siraha, Ramnagar, Mirchaiya, Bariyapatti, Bhagwanpurthadi, Madar and Golbzaar. However, vehicles plied on the streets. There was very little effect of the bandh in the urban areas.
SJTMM cadres detonated a bomb and fired some rounds in the air at Golbazaar-7 last night but there was no casualty.
There was partial effect of the bandh in Saptari and Dhanusha districts.
