Golfers selected
KATHMANDU: Rupak Acharya, Tashi Ghale and Rabi Khadka today qualified for the ninth SAARC Golf Championship here the Le Meridien Gokarna Forest golf Resort and Spa. Raj Pradhan and Tashi Tsering were named as the reserves for the November 1-3 men’s event slated here. Top three golfers were picked up after three round of play. Kesang Lama and Swastika Shrestha, the top two players after the two round of play, qualified for the ladies event. Kalpana Limbu was named in the reserved list for the women’s section. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Hosts Budanilkantha School registered an emphatic 86-run win over The British School on the opening day of the Aditya Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament on Wednesday. Batting first, Budanilkantha scored 146-5 and restricted British School to 60 runs in 16.4 overs. Rupendra Sharma scored 39 off 33 balls and Dikshyant Adhikari contributed 31-ball 36 for the hosts. In another match, Galaxy Public defeated Caspion Valley College by two wickets. Caspion managed 81-8 but Galaxy chased the total in 16.3 overs for the loss of eight wickets. — HNS
Bronze for Anju
KATHMANDU: Nepal International Taekwondo Federation (NITF) welcomed team arrived here with two bronze medals they won at the English Open Championshop held recently in England. Krishna Gopal Rajthala and Anju Raut claimed bronze medals in the sparing section, said the NITF today. NITF president Krishna Bahadur Balal welcomed the team at the Airport— HNS
