Maoists, forces clash in Bhojpur

Dharan, January 3:
A clash is going on between the security forces and the Maoists in Sampang VDC area of Bhojpur district. The fighting began this afternoon.
According to the Itahari-based RNA Eastern Pritana, the encounter ensued after Maoists had attacked a team of security forces who were out on foot-patrol at 4:30 pm.
It takes five hours to walk from the district headquarters, Bhojpur, to the encounter spot. After the clash began, additional security forces were sent there by air and land, stated Eastern RNA Pritana. Details of the clash are yet to be received.
RNA Pritana claimed there has been heavy casualties on the Maoists’ side.
