Cold pushes cotton sales up

Nepalgunj, December 1:

With dipping of mercury, sale of cotton has incre-ased in Nepalgunj. As days are becoming colder, people are busy in making cotton quilts and mattresses.

“After winter season started, numbers of people making new quilts and mattresses have been increasing,” Gayetri Sharma, proprietor of Gayetri Trade Centre, said. “Price of cotton was Rs 105 per kg two years ago, however, the pri-ce is Rs 118 at present,” he added. “We purchase cotton from the CDC at Rs 110 and sell at Rs 118 per kg.”
