Kathmandu:
Flowers play an important role in most people’s lives — be it to welcome guests or to worship the deities or to charm your senses. “Keeping the importance of flowers in mind I have drawn the flowers,” says noted artist A Mohammad Jabbar. Jabbar’s exhibition of paintings of flowers is on at the Singha Art Gallery, Patan Industrial Area.
Noted academician and playwright Dr Abhi Subedi inaugurated the exhibition, entitled ‘The Flowers of Silence’, on December 15.
Jabbar, who is known for his paintings of mountains, has used oil colour and knife. If you look through the paintings, they not only bring the beauty of flowers, but also a whole atmosphere of the moment he seeks to depict. The flowers spur the deep feelings of liveliness and peace. “What is striking in the series of flowers is that they are not the objects of the viewer, they look at you and act upon the observing eyes,” commented noted academician Dr Arun Gupto. The exhibition is on till December 22.
