Bike mishap kills two
ITAHARI: Two of three persons, who were injured when a motorcycle met with an accident in the Gachhiya bridge of Dulari-3 in Morang on Monday, died while undergoing treatment at Dharan, police said. The three were heading west, police said, adding that drunk biking caused the accident. The dead have been identified as Ananta Karki and Netra Shrestha. — HNS
Snowfall affects life
LAMJUNG: Snowfall has affected normal life in the northern part of Lamjung district adjoining the Himalayan region. People of half a dozen VDCs including Taghring, Ghermu, Bahundanda and Bhulbhule of northern Lamjung and Dudhpokhari, Ilampokhari, and Ghanpokhari have been badly affected by the snowfall. — RSS
15 hurt in mishaps
NEPALGUNJ: Fifteen persons were injured in two separate road accidents that occurred in Banke and Bardiya districts on Monday. A motorcyclist and a pillion rider were injured after a tractor and the motorcycle collided with each other. Motorcyclist Jaya Bahadur Shahi of Rajhena-2, Kohalpur, is critical, area police office Kohalpur said. Meanwhile, 13 passengers were injured when two vehicles heading Surkhet from Nepalgunj and heading Nepalgunj from Surkhet collided with each other in Deurali Danda of Bardiya. — HNS

Secy flees captivity
SAPTARI: Secretary of Patthargadha VDC of Saptari Jogendra Saha, who was abducted by an unknown armed gang three days ago, fled from captivity on Sunday evening from Basabalahar VDC. Saha had been abducted from his residence at Kataiya VDC and has already contacted his family, sources said. — RSS
Charcoal seized
RAUTAHAT: A forest patrolling team has arrested seven in charge of smuggling charcoal from forest. The team has burnt down 10 bullock-carts and seized 12 bullocks while the charcoal was being taken to Ramauli Bauriya from Balleri Range post. Hari Sahani, Ramlochan Sahani, Indrajit Sahani, Indal Sahani, Santosh Sahani were among those arrested. — HNS
