Kathmandu:
One may be happy, even proud, of staying single throughout the year, but Valentine’s Day is the day when couples rule, and one regrets not having a partner.
And the couples ruled at ‘Soul Mates Carnival’, a day that was dedicated to love birds at the serenely-nestled Godavari Village Resort, Taukhel, on February 14.
The romantically cool Valentine’s morning had escalated to lovely warm day as the ticking hands of time went round and round. The green environment, cool zephyr, and some really well-dressed couples also infused a romantic feel on the occasion.
The afternoon formally commenced with an exciting Bingo game. The winners happily walked away with bottles of various drinks. “You will have to carry away the bottles in a single hand,” playfully asked the game manager, Anil Thaman, to the first prize winner as he came to claim his prize. And indeed the winner could manage to walk away with many bottles of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages towards his cheering friends.
A couple seemed so charmed by the romantic air that they could not restrain from expressing their love for each other. Later on the day, various other games like ‘Cupid Run’ and dance competition were also organised. Free CDs of ‘Soul Mates — The Essential Love Songs’ were also given away.
“The environment is really nice. I am enjoying the tasty food and the games, yet I feel it would have still been better had there been a little more crowd,” said Shiva Tandukar, a 24-year-old who had come with his friend.
The event was jointly organised by THT Live 2722 and Godavari Village Resort. The event was sponsored by Passion Cooler, a refreshing alcoholic beverage, and co-sponsored by VLCC, a slimming beauty fitness centre. Carlsberg, Yeti Airlines, Invenio Wine, Fresho, Archies Gallery, Cube Bar and Club Platinum supported the event.
