Mishap claims scribe

HETAUDA: Editor of Nabapratibodh weekly, Rangraj Sapkota, a resident of Nayagaun, Ambhanjyang-2, was killed in a road mishap on Friday. He was also the district correspondent of Gorkhapatra daily and Janadesh weekly. “Sapkota was killed when a truck and a tipper hit his motorcycle at Thanabhanjyang of Hetauda-1,” Makwanpur police said. — HNS

Stabbed to death

SIRAHA: A person was killed when an unidentified gang of three persons stabbed him in Siraha on Wednesday night. Mehadiram Mahara, 37, of Sitapur-7, Siraha, was stabbed while he was asleep in his house. — HNS

Body found

GAIGHAT: Body of a youth was found at Burjakanla in Triyuga municipality on Thursday. The corpse had its hands tied and was shot on the chest, the Udaypur police said, adding that the dead could not be identified. The body has been taken for post-mortem, police said. — HNS

Tractor driver killed

GAIGHAT: One person was killed and another injured when a tractor heading to Katari from Mirchaiya turned turtle at Triveni-4 in Udaypur on Friday. Driver Pahariya Chamar, 25, a resident of Dhanusha, died instantly, the Katari Area Police Office said. The injured, Anita Kumal of Sindhuli, is undergoing treatment in Katari. — HNS
