KATHMANDU:

The Golchhas proved that they are the undisputed winners when it comes to go-karting as they were triumphant in getting all the top spots at the Go-Kart Challenge. It was Hitesh, Abhimanyu and Jai Golchha who came in first second and third respectively.

Speeding to the maximum, charging ahead with determination and slickly maneuvering their karts, the competitors displayed their expertise in driving these karts at the Canon Speed Fest 2, The Ultimate Go-Kart Challenge at Tiger GO-Kart, Swayambhu on June 21 organised by Kathmandu Metro Round Table 4. It was certainly a tough competition though as the winners had to go through five different rounds before being declared the best of the lot. A total of 96 participants from 24 different organisations, corporate houses and business houses had taken part in the competition.

Besides the top three, the Fastest Lady award was given to Kirti Begani from Begani Group and the Youngest Player to Raghav Poddar from Poddar Group. Though their players did not make it to the top, it was the enthusiasm that the Perodua team showed which won them the Best Cheering team award.

The event was held under the theme ‘Freedom Through Education.’ “All the proceeds of the event will go to a school in Lalitpur which is in a really bad condition,” said Shakti Begani, coordinator of the event.

The main sponsors of the event were Canon with the Sunrise Bank as cosponsor.
