President of Bangladesh Dr Iajuddin Ahmed has congratulated newly-elected President of Nepal Dr Ram Baran Yadav.

A statement issued by the Bangladesh Embassy here quoted Iajuddin, “Your election to this post exemplifies the trust and confidence that has been reposed in you. As a South Asian neighbour, Bangla-desh has always accorded priority to cultivating close relations with Nepal.” “During your tenure, we would be able to carry forward close ties,” the statement quoted Iajuddin.
