Bench-bar row concerns Koirala

Former Prime Minister and president of the Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala has expressed concerns about the ongoing row between judges and lawyers.
Inviting some lawyers to his residence today, the former Prime Minister wanted to know what
actually was going on in the judiciary.
During the meeting, Koirala said judiciary should not be made weak at any cost.
President of the Democratic Lawyers’ Association Upendra Keshari Neupane senior advocates Harihar Dahal, Radheshyam Adhikari, Shree Hari Aryal and advocates Madhav Baskota, Ram Kumar Shrestha and Ashok Pokhrel met Koirala today.
“Koirala hoped for a speedy end to the row,” Neupane told this daily.
He also wanted to know whether the change in political scenario had anything to do with the row,” Neupane added.
Koirala also called the lawyers to contribute to the constitution- making process.
Lawyers said the former Prime Minister asked them to study different issues of constitution framing.
