Siraha, November 14:

The agitating staffers of the Siraha District Development Committee (DDC) today blamed local development officer Ramadhin Yadav and his supporters of manhandling them.

The agitating workers had been staging protest against a government decision of curtailing meeting and promotion allowance to staffers. The workers called back their protest, that began on October 21, yesterday after the Siraha District Development Committee agreed to their demands.

The staffers said the Local Development Officer and his supporters manhandled them while office-bearers of the district chapter of DDC Local Bodies’ Staffers Association Nepal (LBSAN) and representatives of eight parties were holding a meeting in connection with their agitation.

LBSAN Siraha chairman Arun Shah blamed LDO Yadav of hiring youths to manhandle them.

“Yadav manhandled eight persons, including me,” he said.

LDO Yadav denied the allegation, saying that the staffers were trying to defame him.

Meanwhile, issuing separate press statement, district-based organisations have condemned LDO Yadav’s act of misbehaving with the agitating staffers.
