Kathmandu, November 22:
Senior cadres of the CPN-Maoist participating in the national-level meeting continued group-wise discussion on both the political documents presented by party chairman Prachanda and his rival Mohan Baidya “Kiran”.
Prachanda who presented the political report on behalf of the party headquarters is in favour of giving continuity to the transitional republic and bring the ongoing peace process to a logical
conclusion.
But his political rival Baidya has emphasised that the party should prepare ground for establishing People’s Republic through people’s revolt. Baidya has, however, not spelt out in details the nature of the People’s Republic.
The central committee meeting which began on Monday failed to come up with unified views from both the documents and decided to present them in the cadres’ meet for discussion.
Around 1,100 senior cadres from across the country have been divided into 21 groups to discuss both the papers. Maoist spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara told this daily that the 21 groups were discussing both the papers and the group discussion would continue till tomorrow morning.
Mahara said each of the group leaders would present condensed views of all the groups tomorrow afternoon. Group leaders’ presentation would continue till Monday, he said.
