LALITPUR: The Himalayan TImes photojournalist Bal Krishna Thapa’s 80-year-old mother, Krishna Thapa, passed away while undergoing treatment in Patan Hospital at around 5 pm on Tuesday. She was suffering from high blood pressure and pneumonia. Her last rites will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Wednesday. She is survived by two sons. — HNS

Three arrested

KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday rounded up three inebriated youths for creating nuisance in Koteshwor area at around 6:30 pm. Those arrested are Rajesh Budhathoki, Krishna Gurung and Gyanendra Rai. Police also arrested Rajesh’s father Lava Kumar for inciting the arrested trio, who later resorted to vandalism in the custody. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police Circle on Tuesday received seven-day judicial remand for Akash Lama, Sudip Budhathoki and Min Pun, who were held for smashing the vehicles parked in Everest Hotel on December 10. — HNS
