Prime triumph

KATHMANDU: Ronit Lama scored 32 points as hosts Prime College hammered Wemit of Chitwan 86-23 in the boys’ section match at the sixth Prime Cup Inter-college (+2) National Basketball Tournament on Sunday. In other boys’ matches, Trinity overcame Rato Bangala 48-38 riding on Aangnima Lama’s 20 points while National Campus beat Aviation Academy 30-17. Likewise, Kathmandu Valley defeated White House 35-24 and Children Paradise School (CPS) edged past Orient 23-21. In the girls’ matches, Orient cruised to a comfortable 31-2 win over National Campus and Prime crushed Xavier 37-6. — HNS

Fishtail beat Nakhipot

KATHMANDU: Fishtail Academy of Pokhara won both their matches here at the third Dhorpatan Blue Sky Cup Women’s Volleyball Championship on Sunday. Fishtail beat Nakhipot 25-12, 25-11, 25-11 and Third Division 25-12, 25-17, 22-25, 25-17. Likewise, Nepal Volleyball overcame Rai Team 25-20, 25-11, 25-15, Gyanubaba beat Nakhipot 25-23, 25-15, 25-10, and Rai Team defeated Third Division 25-21, 25-20, 25-21. — HNS
