Kathmandu:

Raaz… The Mystery Continues begins with quite a menacing scene — a pujari (priest) with scars on his body and blood all over with the words scribbled Tum ashudh ho, tum sadh chuke ho (You are impure, you have already gone putrid) on the walls just as another man enters the house.

The scene moves to a fashion show with Nandita (Kangana Ranaut) taking centerstage. And things are also going smoothly with her boyfriend Yash (Adhyayan Suman). But one day in a shopping mall, a stranger, Prithvi (Emraan Hasmi) stares at Kangana, making her feel quite uncomfortable. Then the stranger turns up at Nandita’s apartment and shows her drawings that he has made of her, which he says he has made just by seeing it in flashes. And in one of the first drawings, Nandita is shown with her wrists slit and bleeding, which turns out to be true, followed by other such incidents. And Nandita is to find the mystery that is destroying her life and leading her to death. Prithvi is there to help her out of this terrible situation.

This movie by Mohit Suri is not a sequel to the previous hit movie Raaz, though both touch the same subject. Kangana looks good and has given a good performance, whereas Emraan seems just okay. As for Adhyayan, though he has a major role in the movie, he seems to be easily overshadowed by Kangana and Emraan. The songs, though melodious, do not have anything new to offer. They sound pretty much like any other hit song these days.

The horror quotient in the movie is quite good. The movie does have an interesting appeal, but like most movies it’s the ending that annoys one. If you have always wanted to know

what horror movies made in Hollywood are all about or have missed out on a few popular ones, this is your opportunity to watch it all in one as this movie is a potpourri of some of the most popular Hollywood horror movies of recent times. If you haven’t watched the movies that this Raaz has been copied from, you might actually enjoy this movie.
