Six houses robbed

SIRAHA: Robbers struck at six houses in Siraha on Tuesday night and made away with property worth Rs 5 lakhs. Shailendra Joshi, Maya Boraje, Dinanath Bhattarai and Khemraj Poudel at Hospital Chowk of Lahan-3, were robbed of property worth Rs 3 lakhs, district police said. Cash worth Rs 50,000 and other goods were robbed from the house of Santosh Rana of Rampurtole, Padariya-9. Property worth Rs 1 lakh were robbed from the house of Bhola Safi of Bishnupur Prama VDC-5, according to the police. — HNS

Soldier found dead

Sankhuwasabha: Nepal Army soldier, Rajendra Rana, aged 24, stationed at Khandbari based Amardal Battalion and a resident of Sripur Village Development Committee of Kanchanpur was found dead on Wednesday. Rana had been missing since January 16 when he had gone for a bath in Turkeghat, said Ram Bahadur Sahu of Amardal Battalion. His body was found some 500 metres downstream in Arun River. Preparation to hand over the body to his family is underway, the NA said. — HNS
