At TSDCBD physically challenged people of every age are receiving training so that they can weave themselves into a pupa to later emerge as a distinct butterfly.
Nepal is haunted by superstitious beliefs and narrow-minded people. In such a situation it is obvious that the condition of the differently abled is critical. Whenever a physically challenged child is born most parents try to hide them from society because in our society people take it as an ill fruit of previous birth. The child grows up in a lonely environment.
TSDCBD accommodates many such examples.
Sashikala Singh, the founder of TSDCBD, said that although the Centre has the capacity of training 15 students between the age group of three to six, only a few parents are responding.
The idea of taking the physically challenged as hopeless is totally incorrect. This is what TSDCBD is trying to prove. Everyone possesses a talent. This Centre tries to bring out this talent. The products and handicrafts made by the differently abled exhibited at the Centre proves how creative and talented they are.
All they need is help and encouragement from us, not sympathy. Infact if given an opportunity the physically challenged can lead the world to higher glory.
