Swosthani ends

KATHMANDU: The month-long Swosthani Brata Katha concluded on Monday. Women worship goddess Swosthani at noon after taking bath and take food only once a day throughout the month, with a belief that the goddess would make their wishes come true. Devotees thronged religious sites like Pashupati, Gaurighat, Ganesh temples, Shali River and other sites associated with goddess Satidevi throughout the month. They also thronged the Madhav Narayan temple which remains open only during this month-long period. On the concluding day of the brata (fast) on Monday, women offered the Prasad to their husbands. If they do not have husbands, they offer the Prasad to their sons or son of their namesake or a river wishing for the fulfillment of their wishes. — RSS

Two bikes stolen

KATHMANDU: Two motorcycles were stolen from a house at Sanepa on Friday. The bikes were stolen during the night time from the house of Rajan Maharjan at Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-2. According to Maharjan, the motorcycles were stolen on Friday night. — HNS Thieves nabbed KATHMANDU: Local youths have formed a club and begun patrolling Saraswatinagar in Boudha after a rise in theft cases in the area. They nabbed three thieves red-handed on Sunday and handed them over to the police. “We started patrolling after the cases of theft went up during load-shedding hours,” said Subash Joshi, treasurer of Saraswatinagar Youth Club. Joshi said they patrol the area throughout the night taking turns. — RSS

RPP meeting

KATHMANDU: The central committee meeting of Rastriya Prajatantra Party on Sunday approved the political report presented by party general secretary Parshu Ram Khapung and organisational report presented by another general secretary Dipak Bohora. The party has decided to depute party’s central members and CA members to districts to strengthen party organisation. — RSS
