BoAN’s scheme

KATHMANDU: Bank of Asia Nepal (BoAN) has brought into operation its new financial service called, ‘Enterprise Financial Solutions’ for the promotion of small industries and businessmen. The bank till the end of Magh month registered a deposit of Rs 5.23 billion and credit of Rs 5.19 billion. — HNS

IFC, Drukair JV

KATHMANDU: IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, will work with Bhutan’s state-owned airline, Drukair, to review the airline’s operations to increase efficiency and provide better services at an affordable cost. The agreement with Drukair and its parent company, Druk Holding and Investments, marks IFC’s first infrastructure advisory project in Bhutan. IFC will evaluate the airline’s finances and operations, make recommendations and explore the chance of attracting private investors. — HNS

Inflation dips

NEW DELHI: India’s annual rate of inflation dipped further in the week ended on February 7 to 3.92 per cent from 4.39 per cent the week before. The inflation rate, based on the official wholesale price index (WPI) stood at 4.98 per cent for the corresponding week of the previous fiscal. The WPI for all commodities declined 0.2 per cent to 228 (provisional) from 228.4 (provisional) the week before. — HNS
