Hospital blamed for kid’s death

KATHMANDU: Relatives of a child who died in the Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara have blamed the hospital for the child’s death.

Akriti Gurung, 9, a resident of Fulbari, Pokhara municipality-11, died soon after an intern nurse gave her an anti-rabies vaccine.

Medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Buddhi Bahadur Thapa said the case would be investigated and the guilty would be punished. Akriti was taken to the hospital after a dog bit her this morning.

Meanwhile, the deceased child’s father Manakaji Gurung and mother Tika Gurung have fallen unconscious after the death of their daughter.

Talks are going on between the hospital administration and the victim’s relatives
