Dhangadhi, March 26:
Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba today accused the Maoists of disobeying the court and trying to impose dictatorship.
Talking to journalists at Geta Airport, Deuba accused the Maoists of promoting violence and creating anarchy. Deuba arrived here to inaugurate the second youth women’s gathering.
He said that the protest against the SC order in the capital yesterday was an insult to the independent court, which exposed the dictatorial character of the Maoists.
He said the reports of NC joining the government were nothing but rumours. “How can NC join the government when theMaoists are not abiding by the past agreements?” he asked.
In Kathmandu, party acting president Sushil Koirala said it would be disastrous for both the party and democracy if the NC joined the Maoist-led coalition. Koirala also accused the government of illegally detaining journalist Rishi Dhamala on baseless charges.
