One killed in mishap KATHMANDU: Chitu Lama, 65, a resident of Chitlang-2 of Makwanpur was killed when a mini truck hit him near Thankot Bus Park on Monday evening. The truck was heading to Nagdhunga from Thankot. Driver of the mini truck is under the custody of Metropolitan Police Sector, Thankot for further investigation, the police said.
NHRC voices concern KATHMANDU: National Human Right Commission has expressed serious concern over the ultimatum issued by United CPN Maoist district committee of Ramechhap on Nepali Congress and CPN-UML cadres and the disturbance created at Image Channel. The press statement issued by NHRC mentioned that the team from NHRC is visiting the district to monitor the condition of human rights. It also urged the political parties to obey the Comprehensive Peace Accord and to establish rule of law in the nation. NBA flays assault KATHMANDU: Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has expressed its concern over the attack on Baikuntha Neupane, chief, Adikabi Bhanubhakta Campus in Tanahun. Also the president of Nepal Public Campus Association and a member of Tanahun Bar Association, Neupane was physically assaulted by an unidentified gang on May 5.The NBA demanded bringing the guilty to book.
