NEPALGUNJ: The supply of salt to the Karnali Zone and other hilly districts of mid-western region has been disrupted after the Maoists affiliated Nepal National Staffers' Union padlocked the Nepalgunj based Salt Trading Corporation on Tuesday. They have disturbed the import of salt from India as well. The Maoists have accused the Regional manager of the salt trading corporation of involvement in irregularities and discrimination among the staffers in the office. The dispute was ensued after the management failed to repair the quarter of a security guard which had collapsed in a storm some days ago. A meeting was held to resolve the problem between the staffers and the Deputy General Manager Manoj Acharaya, but ended inconclusively. Though the staffers have accused the Regional Manager of involvement in the irregularities, no facts have been revealed regarding the case yet. The CDO of Humla, Sudev Adhikari, informed that they have enough stock, therefore, there is no lack of salt in the districts at present.
