Dart referee course KATHMANDU: The first Referee Training Course organised by Nepal Dart Association (NDA) concluded here on Sunday. In all, 28 referees from Chitawan, Syangja, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Kavre, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Dhading and Gorkha took part in the one-day training, said NDA. General Secretary of the association Dinesh Thapa conducted the training. The NDA President Chandra Prasad Rijal gave away the certificates to the participants. — HNS
Cahill kicked out SYDNEY: Australian international midfielder Tim Cahill was kicked out of a Sydney nightclub after a drunken fracas with bouncers, reports said here on Sunday. Sunday newspapers said the Everton player, who was celebrating winning the inaugural Australian football players’ union player of the year award early ON Friday, was told to leave the nightspot because of his drunken state. According to newspaper accounts, Cahill became angry when he was refused service by bar staff and became involved in an argument which escalated into a physical “push and shove” with club security before he was shown the door. — AFP
Roddick confident LONDON: Andy Roddick is confident of winning his Wimbledon fitness battle after the American was forced to pull out of his Queen’s semi-final against James Blake with an ankle injury. Roddick, who was bidding for a record fifth Queen’s title, admitted being fit for Wimbledon had been upper-most in his thoughts when he called it quits and he still hopes to take his place in the All-England tournament, beginning on June 22. — AFP
