Am I leaving school?

Am I leaving school?

By Am I leaving school?

When I was in grade 3, I had to leave my school and go to Pokhara with my family. I was very sad — to leave all my friends and my school — Daffodil Public School. There, I joined Shishu Niketan English School. Four years later, we came back to Kathmandu and I rejoined DPS. I was happy to meet my old friends and teachers again but sad at the same moment, to have had to leave SNES. This taught me a very important lesson of life - that meeting and parting are parts and parcels of life. However, bigger than the sorrow of parting is the joy of meeting again.

Today, I am trying to console myself with this very experience. The knowledge that now I will have to leave DPS again has blocked all my other thoughts. Looking back at those school days brings tears to my eyes. Am I to end the 13-year journey now? Maybe not. As my teachers say, this is not the end; it is only just a beginning of life. So, the 13 years were not the journey to this destination but a path to success which will sooner or later be one day achieved. I am thankful to my parents and teachers to have educated me with not only knowledge but also discipline, ethics and principles. Though, it will not be easy to leave the school because it will ever be with me in my merories. The memories shall never perish and I will continue to live and strive to achieve success, and glory by treading on the path my teachers and my schools have shown me. — Abhinav Thakur, Daffodil P School
