Red Cross drive begins
KATHMANDU: To make Kathmandu district free from misuse of Red Cross symbol, Nepal Red Cross Society, Kathmandu district chapter, has set up monitoring teams in 57 VDCs of Kathmandu, 35 wards of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and 19 wards of Kirtipur Municipality. The teams will be coordinated by Red Cross’ Kathmandu chapter’s secretary Sangha Ratna Shakya. According to a press release issued here today, the campaign was announced to check the misuse of Red Cross symbol by hospitals, nursing homes, drug stores, clinics and ambulances in Kathmandu. — HNS
Award for Mohan Koirala
KATHMANDU: Sarvada Bangmaya Foundation has decided to confer the Sarvada Abhyarchana-2061 on poet Mohan Koirala and Haribhakta Katuwal Talent Award-2061 on poet Anil Paudel. Likewise, the foundation has decided to confer Aarvada Aabhyarchana-2062 on litterateur and thinker Govinda Bhatta and Haribhakta Katuwal Talent Award-2062 on poet Khum Narayan Paudel. — RSS
Cultural fest from April 14
KATHMANDU: A national cultural festival is to be organised from April 14 -16 amidst various programmes in connection with celebrating the Nepali New Year-2062 BS as the Year of Peace and National Unity. Cultural tableaus and processions of various ethnic groups and linguistic communities in the country would be displayed, car rally will be organised, music and dance programmes and food exhibition will be held on the occasion. Similarly, street festivals will be organised in Thamel, New Road, Bhaktapur and Bouddha. The festival is being organised at the initiatives of the National Film Artistes’ Association of Nepal, the Gorkha Tourism and NTB. — RSS
