Staffers flouting varsity rule to face action

The state-run Tribhuvan University has decided to initiate action against teachers and employees working in different institutes, departments and research centres under it and working simultaneously for other organisations as well. According to the TU employees’ administration division, TU teachers and employees working for other organisations also are required to take permission for the same and those found not abiding by the rule will face action. The action is being initiated in response to the complaints received by the TU monitoring team that had recently carried out a study of different institutes, said rector professor Dr Mahendra Singh. The Tribhuvan University employs 250 professors, 75 readers, 3,509 lecturers, 60 senior trainers, 229 assistant lecturers, 147 trainers, 646 teaching assistants, 159 deputy trainers and 164 assistant trainers, according to the university’s annual report.
