Balaju Lions donate blood KATHMANDU: Lions Club of Balaju (District 325B), Saraphi Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd and Maruhiti Club organized a blood donation programme on Saturday to mark Sri Krishna Janmasthami. About 72 men and women donated blood on the occasion. — HNS Sipradi centre KATHMANDU: Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd, authorized distributor of TATA vehicles for Nepal, opened its authorised service centre in Shankhamul of Kathmandu for light vehicles on Monday. The centre is providing facility of Sipradi Mahautsav TATA Free Service Camp from Tuesday. Under the scheme, the newly opened Delta Auto Service Centre Pvt Ltd will provide concession in servicing, engine oil and spare parts. — HNS Smuggling Ilam: The trend of illegal sale of the valuable pangolin shell has increased in Ilam district recently. The pangolin is an endangered species. Locals say that people who come to the villages in Ilam from India’s Sikkim and Manebhanjyang for cattle trade are engaged in poaching and illegal trade in wildlife parts. Poaching of the pangolin for its shell is taking place in Jogmai, Namsaling, Soyang, Naya Bazaar and Gorkhe areas in the cover of night. A report said poachers have killed as many as 50 pangolins in Namsaling area alone, recently. Locals accused the local administration of being spectators. — RSS
