Laughter has definitely been vouched as the best medicine today and to add more fervour to it on April Fool’s Day, Sisno-Pani Nepal along with Nepal-Russian Literary Association and Russian Centre of Science and Culture at Russian Cultural Centre put together a laughter filled evening for the enthusiasts of literary humour. The event was organised especially to honour Nikolai Gogol, world-renowned Russian writer, on his 196th birth anniversary.
The programme was chaired by Chattyang Master, our very own popular humorist, who made the audiences crack up into fits of laughter with his ever fresh and funny jokes. The chief guest for the programme was Bishnu Raj Atreya, professor and litterateur who also added to the humorous atmosphere with his share of funny instances and jokes. Rachana Singh, whose sense of humour while compering the show was more than delightful for the audiences, hosted the programme. “I don’t understand why people cannot laugh at any and every situation in life. For me, even the fact that my hand has five fingers makes my laugh,” she quoted. The programme included jokes, parodies, poems and songs from various poets and humorists from all across the country. Among them were ghazal maestro Gyanu Bhakta Poudel, Dhanusha Singh, Dhirendra Maharishi and Arjun Parajuli. The jokes and
parodies in the session included topics from newspapers to fashion trends, married life, social issues and many more.
A totally hilarious experience in such a time of seriousness where people are always bogged down with their own troubles.
