CJ leaves for Russia

KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Min Bahadur Rayamajhi left for Russia leading five-member judicial team on a six-day visit to Russia, on Friday. CJ’s wife Shakti Rayamajhi, Judges Top Bahadur Magar,Ishwor Khatiwoda and Binod Sharma among others, were also in the team. Rayamajhi told reporters that the visit would prove to be a milestone in strengthening mutual ties between the judiciaries of the two countries and also an opportunity to learn about the Russian legal system. He further stated that the visit would also help in promoting Russia-Nepal bilateral ties. — HNS Cultural day at HIMS KATHMANDU: Himalaya International Model School (HIMS) on Friday observed its 16th annual cultural programme and parents’ day amidst the presence of a large number of students and parents assembled at its premises. The event organised on the eve of Dashain festival, which begins Saturday, was marked by colourful cultural activities. Issuing a press statement here, the HIMS said, students from nursery to nine grades performed various dances, including tribal dances, representing diverse communities and cultures. Constituent Assembly member Chakra Bahadur Thakuri graced the occasion, the release added. — HNS
