KATHMANDU: Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari today said that public private partnership ought to be developed for the promotion of Nepal’s tourism industry and develop Nepal Tourism Board according to international practices. Speaking at a programme organized here on the occasion of 30th World Tourism Day at the Nepal Tourism Board office, Minister Bhandari urged for promoting the diversity of Nepal as a tourist attraction for Nepal Tourism Year 2011. MoTCA secretary Nagendra Prasad Ghimire breifed the audience about the procedures going on for travel and trade renewal along with solutions to problems that occurred due to bank guarantee. He also spoke about the 50 per cent customs charge discount on tourist coaches and work going on to settle disputes in Nepal Mountaineering Association. Nepal Tourism Year 2011’s national programme coordinator Yogendra Shakya updated the gathering about the working committee’s activities and said that the committee in coordination with the main committee would work according to the vision set for NTY 2011. NTB chief executive officer Prachanda Man Singh urged for creating a brand image of Nepal and promoting it. Singh also said Nepal is a marvel of diversity and should be packaged to promote each destination according to its diversity. On the occasion, NTB also announced the launch of Ramechhap’s Numbeur Cheese Circuit of 14-16 days’ trekking route and Indigenous People’s Trail.
