The companies’ combined production will be over 2,100 tonnes per day. Dang Cement Industries, Sonapur Cement, Ghorahi Cement and Rolpa Cement say their preparations have reached the final stage and production will begin within two months. Dang Cement Industries plans to set up its plant at Hapure of Purandhara, Sonapur Cement at Dudhras of Bijauri, Ghorahi Cement at Gogli of Ghorahi and Rolpa Cement at Caulichaur of Budhagaun in Rolpa with Dang as its centre. — RSS Tea farming PHALEBAS: Tea farming has been initiated for the first time in Phalamkhani of Parbat district with a view to raise incomes of ultra poor and Dalit families. Commercial tea farming was launched in the village after the Local Development Fund of the DDC provided 21,000 plants for 200 Dalit families last year. The plants were made available with financial assistance of Rs 125,000 from the DDC, Rs 40,000 from the Local Development Fund and Rs 17,000 from the Agriculture Development Office. Tea has been planted on more than 700 ropanis of land in wards 1 to 5 of the village. — RSS Potato chips DHADINGBESI: A potato chips factory has been set up at Jharlang VDC-3 of Dhading to utilize the potato produced in the remote northern Ree, Lapa and Jharlang VDCs of the district for commercial purposes. Ganesh Himal Potato Chips Factory came into operation early this month. The chips will be sold at Rs 15 per 50 grams. Earlier, potato produced in the villages used to go waste due to remoteness of the area. A 13-member committee led by Ur Lama will run the factory. — RSS
