I have a fair complexion but hesitate to wear make up. What kind of make up do you think will look simple and suit my complexion? — Ritu Pradhan
Do not hesitate to apply makeup as makeup can elevate your looks by a huge margin. The colours that would suit your skin tones are dusty rose and plums. Lip colours in medium pinks, soft plums, and fuchsias roses, avoid strong pinks and orange reds. If your eyes are dark use rich colours like blacks and chocolates. Use a lip pencil to define your lips.
I am fair and use heavy make up (according to my friends) but when I don’t use any, I look very pale. Help! — Sanjana Shrestha
You may think you are looking pale due to your complexion. Try applying a light foundation, preferably a shade darker to your skin, a light blush and light sheer lipstick and see the difference!
I’m 22 years old. My problem is that I have high cheekbones. So every time I smile my cheeks look very big. I’ve never used a blush. Please suggest me the colour. I have a fair complexion. — Junu Shrestha
Lucky You! People with high cheekbones hardly need to apply any makeup because of your good bone structure. As you have a fair complexion use shades of beige, tawny rose and pink tones.
The prize for the best question goes to Junu Shrestha this week. Mail your beauty queries to snehsecret@himalayantimes.com.
