Rajesh Halwai takes lead in Nepal Open Golf tourney

Rajesh Halwai took the first-day lead in Crown Prince Paras — All Nepal Amateur Open Golf Tournament, which began here today.
Halawai took the lead over other 21 contestants. He finished the day at 5-under par in the 15-hole course.
The tournament, which has been organised by Nirwan Country Club, is being held at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan.
Jeevan Rai finished the day in the second position. Rai scored 3-under par over 18 holes in the first round match.
Similarly, Sastika Limbu, of Dharan, is at third position with the score of 2-under par.
The only player outside Dharan is Suman Sachdev of Gokarna Golf Resort. He is in the 11th position after the first round play. He gathered only net score. It was a bad start for him.
Due to continuous vehicle-movement strike, seven golfers could not arrive Dharan till late Friday evening. Five contestants from Pokhara also could not participate in the tournament though they have made their registrations.
The final and the concluding match of the tournament would be held on Sunday. Earlier, Professor Dr Lok Bikram Thapa, vice-chancellor of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences , inaugurated the tournament.
