KATHMANDU: The “Fourth Wedding and Gift Expo” organised by Direction Nepal began today. With a total of fifty-two stalls, the expo was inaugurated by Nepal Chambers of Commerce (NCC) president Surendra Bir Malakar. The expo is featuring a wide range of wedding related items ranging from apparels, ritual accessories, gifts and jewellery. The novelty of this expo is highlighted by stalls offering honeymoon packages to six destinations as well as cruises in association with star cruises and zest holidays. Kuber Merchant Finance Limited is featuring a store with schemes for women and children savings accounts, along with health savings as well. Wedding Nepal — a full-phase wedding planning company and the first of its kind here — has put up a stall to make people aware that they can organise, coordinate as well as direct and create a grand wedding on a suitable budget for those tying the knot. “Over 15,000 people are expected to visit this expo as it’s a buy and sell even though we are not looking for income generation,” said Ramesh Thapa, event manager for Direction Nepal. To make things exciting, Direction Nepal has also organised side events like Bridal Fashion Show, Photo Exhibition and Bridal Make-up Competition. The expo offers solutions for all newly-weds — from furniture to housing solutions under one roof, modular kitchen set-ups, electronics as well as stalls for children. The expo will be on till November 22 at Direction Exhibition and Convention Centre at United World Trade Centre.
