Biplav warns of revolt

By Himalayan News Service

KATHMANDU: General Secretary of the United National People’s Movement (UNPM) Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ today threatened to revolt if the people’s rights were not ensured legally. Biplav, who is also the standing committee member of the UCPN-Maoist, said the third phase of agitation was essential to ensure the people’s republic and the changes brought about through the people’s war and the Janaandolan II. “The movement can spark a revolt if the people’s rights are not ensured,” he said, addressing a face-to-face organised by Jana Sanchar Abhiyan today. He claimed that the Maoist movement would supplement the achievement of earlier movements, rather than forming a new government.
