KATHMANDU: Claiming that attempts to avert change were being made with the help of “international reactionary forces”, UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today said that they were on a decisive fight with such international and national reactionary forces. “Some international forces do not want to see the change in the country. The fight against the reactionaries will end soon,” said Prachanda. He was addressing a national gathering of the Maoist affiliated lecturers at Patan Multiple Campus in Lalitpur. He also claimed that organised conspiracies were being hatched to overturn the historical achievement made by the people through revolution. He also urged the lecturers and professors to raise voice against such conspiracies through academic writings on several fields, including science, politics and education sectors. Those in the government were not for progress and change and therefore there had been a tussle among the political parties for long, he added. He also claimed that the Prime Minister and other ministers of the government were puppets of foreign powers. He also claimed that both national and international forces were planning to dissolve the Constituent Assembly. He, however, expressed fear that the reactionary forces could raise their head once again. “PM and other ministers of this government has no power to accomplish what they have been longing for. They have been used against the national interest by the foreign powers,” he claimed. He reiterated that the “puppet government” — an unnatural coalition formed with the help of foreign powers — would collapse soon.
