ROME: A former Serie A linesman on Friday told a court in Naples that Inter Milan were also involved in the infamous 2006 Calciopoli match-fixing scandal. Rosario Coppola also claimed that having refused to help an Inter Milan player receive a lighter ban after a red card, he was never again called to officiate in Serie A. Coppola also told the court that all teams, in particular the big ones, tried to gain refeering favours. When the whole Calciopoli scandal broke in 2006 Inter were conspicious by their absence from suspicion. Juventus were relegated to Serie B league and stripped of their last two titles while AC Milan, Lazio, Fiorentina and Reggina were all handed point penalties for next season.
