BHAIRAHAWA: Landless people of Rupandehi, Nawalparasi and Kapilvastu today demanded that the government provide them with land ownership certificate of the land they have been tilling since long. They also warned that they would padlock the Survey Office in the districts from December 16 if their demand was not fulfiled by then. Lyam Bahadur Darji, central secretary of the National Land Rights Forum, announced the protests in a programme jointly organised by the Kapilvastu chapter of the Forum and Ukhada Rights Committees of the three districts here today. As part of their protest programmes made public, they will submit memorandum to the CA members and gherao the Survey Office and Land Revenue Office. Their demand comes at a time when 'squatters' and police in Kailali engaged in bloody clash on Friday.
