SALYAN: UCPN-Maoist’s sister outfit YCL called a bandh in Salyan protesting the arrest of Magarat State Committee sub coordinator and YCL central member Chandra Bahadur Khadka ‘Asal’ and YCL district committee member Bhim Bahadur Hamal on Thursday. The police had arrested Khadka on Tuesday night from Kapurkot, a border area of Dang and Salyan in connection with the Salyan incident where a dozen CPN-UML cadres were injured in clashes with YCL on December 8.

According to sources, the transportation, trade and industry and education institutions have been affected by the bandh. Likewise, the police also arrested Youth Force Salyan chairman Bijaya Singh and CPN-UML distict committee member Janak BK.
