Agni Incorporated, authorised distributor of Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to introduce its latest
offering — TUV 300 in the Nepali market. According to the company, the compact SUV from Mahindra is expected to be launched in the domestic market by end of this year.
The TUV 300 is available in six variants — T4, T6, T6+, T6 AMT, T8 and T8 AMT but only some selected variants will be made available in the Nepali market. “Since TUV 300 is equally suitable for on-and off-road utility, we are optimistic with this compact SUV,” shared Sijan Neupane, Assistant Manager – Marketing Department at Agni Incorporated, adding that
there is a surge in the demand for vehicles in this segment in the domestic market.
According to him, the SUV will go up against the likes of the Ford Ecosport and Hyundai Creta amongst others in Nepal. “The tentative price of the compact SUV will range from Rs 3.3 million to Rs 3.8 million,” he informed.
Powered by a mHawk three-cylinder diesel engine, TUV 300 offers 85PS of maximum power and 230Nm of peak torque. The compact SUV is powered only by a diesel engine. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels and also comes with the option of a five-speed automated manual transmission, which puts out slightly less power at 82PS. The company claims fuel efficiency of 18.5 kmpl. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) and airbags are
optional in all variants and the TUV 300 comes with a three-year or 100,000km warranty.
While the base model will come with aircon, power steering and the top-spec model will get a touch-screen infotainment system, power windows, reverse parking camera and alloy wheels. Having a seven-seat configuration, the TUV 300 will offer generous cabin space with enough head-and-legroom.
Safety being a priority, the vehicle’s chassis and shell is reportedly built using toughened high strength steel. The compact SUV also gets dual airbags and ABS with EBD systems in place. Additionally, the vehicle also gets Corner Brake Control (CBC).
The vehicle has been offered in interesting shades of white, black, red, blue, silver and orange shades. The new model gets interesting features like swept-back headlamps, body-coloured door handles, reverse parking camera, touchscreen
infotainment system, front-grille with chrome inserts, flat roof with roof rails and body coloured mirrors and bumpers.
Mahindra claims that the design of the TUV300 is inspired from ‘battle-tank’ with elements like prominent shoulder lines, flat roof and bonnet, high front nose and high ground clearance. Other features include sweptback headlights, vertical chrome slats, blackened B and D-pillars, rear-mounted spare wheel and vertical taillights.
