KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 6

KTC India Pvt Ltd, a car rental company, has imported 25 Toyota commuter vans from Nepal on lease for three months last Saturday.

Citing the considerable demand for such vehicles for the upcoming G-20 Leaders Summit to be held in New Delhi on September 9 and 10, the company had rented the vehicles not only from various cities in India but also from Nepal and Dubai.

The 2023 G-20 New Delhi summit is the upcoming 18th meeting of 19 nations including the European Union scheduled to take place in the Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition-Convention Centre (IECC), the first of its kind to be held in India as well as in South Asia Representatives of some of the world's largest economies including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, Saudi Arabia's Mohammed Bin Salman, Japan's Fumio Kishida, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholzwill are expected to arrive at New Delhi for the G-20 Leaders' Summit. India assumed the G-20 presidency on December 1, 2022. The event will be chaired by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to a report by Times of India, embassies of G-20 nations had demanded more than 1,000 luxury vehicles for the visiting representatives, including drivers for the event.

KTC India will be meeting over 60 per cent of the required demand.

The company had announced the import of vehicles from Nepal over its Facebook account.

"For the first time, vehicles were imported from Nepal by KTC India for the G-20 summit," it reads.
