Kathmandu, June 23:

Asian Development Bank (ADB) will assist the government of Nepal in formulating an education sector development policy and strategy through a technical assistance (TA) grant for $150,000. The TA will help improve service delivery in school education in the light of national goals for poverty reduction and human development, states the Manila-based bank in a press release issued here today.

According to the bank, the education sector development policy and strategy will define proposed reforms for integrated planning, management, and delivery of school education, key policy implementation strategies and required interventions to strengthen capacity for implementation. The ministry of education and sports will implement the programme. The programme is in line with poverty reduction measures taken by ADB and its developing member countries (DMCs).
