‘FNCCI should expand services’

A taskforce headed by Mahesh Lal Pradhan, former president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today submitted a report to Binod Bahadur Shrestha, president of FNCCI, in order to expand and strengthen services being provided by the apex body of the Nepali business community, here.
Presenting the report, Pradhan underlined the need to expand and improve the activities of the FNCCI. "FNCCI should play a proactive role in creating conducive business environment in the country as well as come up with constructive recommendations on policy formulation," he said while presenting the report. The report has incorporated suggestions and views of various member organisations under FNCCI, economists and experts and focused on strengthening and diversifying the role of FNCCI. It has also suggested at decentralising the role of FNCCI and expanding its services to local levels.
On the occasion, Shrestha assured that the recommendations in the report would be implemented as soon as possible. "These would be very helpful in modifying and improving services to meet the growing demands of private sector," he added. The taskforce comprised of former presidents Ananda Raj Mulmi and Pradeep Kumar Shrestha, first vice-president Chandi Raj Dhakal, former vice-president Chiranjivi Nidhi Tiwari, ex-treasurer Gopal Prasad Chhetri and executive member R B Rauniyar. While, Rajendra Bahadur Shrestha was the member secretary of the team.
